Dancing with the Reading Stars raises money necessary to support on-going operations, scholarships, productions, and our many outreach and offsite programs – 50% of which are provided at little or no cost to the community. In addition to its onsite classes and preschool, Yocum Institute outreach and offsite programs impact 30,000 people each year. 80% are under the age of 18 and 50% of those Yocum serves are considered at risk population. Although many do not realize it, Yocum is much more than the bricks and mortar of the building located at 3000 Penn Avenue. Yocum develops and runs programs throughout Berks County.  This is not just about dancing. It's about fun and fundraising!

Meet Dancers Courtnie & Clay

Courtnie Nein is a co-founder and wealth advisor at Good Life Financial Advisors. She has been serving the Berks County community and beyond as a financial planner for the past 15 years.  Throughout her career she has received numerous accolades including being a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a Forbes magazine Top Millennial Advisor,  a Forbes magazine Top Next Generation Wealth Advisor, and also a recipient of the Investment News 40 under 40 Awards.  Courtnie enjoys living a healthy and active lifestyle and also giving back to the community she was born and raised in.  She is the mother to her two sons Graham age nine and Colt age six, and also coaches their soccer teams.  When asked to participate in Dancing with the Stars by a client, she couldn’t turn down the opportunity to dance with her favorite dance partner!

Clay Gray is a sales director at Dairy Farmers of America. Clay has worked in dairy commodity sales for the last eleven years.  Clay is the father to his five year old son James. In his free time Clay also enjoys working out and living a physically active lifestyle. Nicknamed “DJ Clay Gray” by his friends and family, you can find him controlling the music or dancing to a good beat at any given moment. He is excited to participate in this amazing opportunity and to give back to the Yocum Institute for Arts Education.

Thank you for your generosity in supporting the arts!
